When I visit someone’s About page I want to learn about the person holistically. Here, I hope to give you a glimpse into who I am.
I am married to Jean for 36 years. We live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, USA as empty nesters. Our daughter and her husband live in Connecticut with our granddaughter. Our son and his wife live in Pennsylvania with our two grandsons.
I grew up in New York City and relocated to Silicon Valley, California in my mid-twenties where I met Jean. We relocated to the Tampa Bay area in 1992 where we enjoy kayaking and cheering for the Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL hockey team).
My career spans 10 years in (B2B) sales and more than 20 years in (B2B) marketing.
I’ve been a podcaster since 2013, with more nearly 500 episodes published.
In 2021 I retired the Modern Marketing Engine podcast at episode 300. I joined iQor as V.P. of Global Content Marketing where I currently host the Digitally Irresistible video podcast.
By the end of 2021, I felt unfulfilled in my podcasting life because for the first time in nine years, I didn’t have a podcast that was all mine.
I knew I wanted to host a podcast about midlife. But, I didn’t know exactly what about midlife to discuss.
Then, I did some research and discovered that we actually spend most of our adult lives in midlife seasons. I surveyed my LinkedIn connections and discovered that 78% of them were “less than totally fulfilled.”
If you're only 80% fulfilled, you're doing great!
I had a hunch I wasn’t the only person in midlife that isn’t totally fulfilled, despite having so many blessings in my life; a great marriage, highly functional adult children, three beautiful grandchildren, a respectable career, relatively good health, a home in Florida, etc. Despite all my “happiness” I craved fulfillment in one or more corners of my soul.
My research validated my hunch. It turns out the 80/20 principle is in play all around us including our level of fulfillment.
I searched podcasts about midlife and I found NONE focused on fulfillment. The switch went off in my head. And, the Midlife Fulfilled podcast launched in February 2022.
